Books & Bookmaking
I first became interested in bookbinding a couple of years ago while creating my small prints and exploring new ways to present my work. The idea of making books came to mind, and at first, I thought, "Well, it’s just a book—pages, a cover, nothing more." But as I took courses, I discovered the true beauty of bookbinding. This craft is not only ancient but also deeply graceful to me. Learning about the different types of beautiful paper, stitching techniques, specialized tools, and the anatomy of a book has revealed it as a truly remarkable art form. Beyond the structure and form, I have also been using my art books as a storytelling tool, weaving personal narratives into their pages. My most recent book tells the story of my childhood at my grandmother’s home, transforming the book itself into an extension of my memories.
